What is the "Promised" column on the Orders page?
It shows the delivery date the sales channel promised your buyer when they placed the order.
eBay and Amazon show buyers an estimated delivery date at checkout — something like *"estimated delivery Sep 9 – Sep 24"* or *"deliver by Sep 25"*. That date is part of the order, so Sugibana Flow reads it and puts it in the Promised column. It is known the moment the order arrives, before you have shipped anything.
Where the channel gave a range, the column shows the range.
What is the difference between "Promised" and "ETA"?
They are two different dates, and that is why they are two different columns.
- Promised is what the sales channel told the buyer. It exists from the moment the order arrives, even if you have not posted the parcel yet.
- ETA is what the courier currently predicts, based on where the parcel actually is. It does not exist until the parcel has been scanned at least once.
An order you have not shipped yet has a Promised date and no ETA. That is normal, and it is the most useful combination on the page — it is exactly the order you can still do something about.
When the two disagree, that is information rather than an error: the courier is telling you the parcel will not arrive when the buyer was told it would.
Why is the Promised column empty for some of my orders?
An empty Promised column means that sales channel never gave us a delivery date. It does not mean the order is on time, and it does not mean anything is broken.
Which channels publish a delivery date:
| Channel | Gives a promised delivery date? |
|---|---|
| eBay | Yes, on effectively every order |
| Amazon | Yes on most orders — but never on a cancelled one |
| PrestaShop | No |
| Allegro | No |
| Orders you entered manually | No |
If you sell mostly through your own PrestaShop shop, most of your Promised column will be empty. That is expected: your own shop does not publish a delivery promise the way a marketplace does.
Why is the date empty on my cancelled Amazon orders?
Amazon does not give a delivery estimate for an order that was cancelled — there is nothing to deliver. Those orders show a dash, and that is correct.
Why do some older orders have no date when newer ones do?
Sugibana Flow reads the delivery date out of the order information the channel sends. Orders that were imported into the system in bulk when you first set up — rather than arriving through the live channel connection — did not come with that information, so there is nothing to read. Those orders will stay empty. Everything arriving through the live connection is unaffected.
Can I sort or filter by the promised date?
Not yet. The column is there to be read at a glance alongside the order's status and its ETA.
Does an empty date mean the order is late, or not late?
Neither. It means we were never told. Treat an empty Promised column as "no information", never as reassurance — if you need to know whether a specific order is running late, look at its status and its ETA, or check the order on the channel itself.
Where does this date come from — can I change it?
It comes from the sales channel and is stored exactly as the channel sent it. You cannot edit it, because it is a record of what your buyer was told rather than a note of your own.
